PHOTOS: Sheirut Leumi Volunteers Being Trained As MDA Paramedics

For a first time, dozens of Sheirut Leumi girls have been accepted to a three-year program during which they will be certified as Magen David Adom paramedics. To date, Sheirut Leumi has been a one-year program with an option for a second year.

The inductees begin the training this week, which will last a year. Once course will be the IDF paramedic course held in the MDA paramedic training center and the second in the practical engineering center in Ariel. The two courses will be conducted simultaneously.

If all goes as planned, 50 girls enrolled in the three-year Sheirut Leumi program will be certified as paramedics and following the year of training, they will be work on one of MDA’s paramedic ambulances nationwide for the remaining two ears of the program.

Recently, 170 males and females who will be serving in Sheirut Leumi completed a Magen David Adom Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) course and they have been assigned to stations nationwide.
