Tel Aviv’s Dov Hoz School in the coming school year will offer a new major, smartphone repair which will also include tablets and electronic game consoles.
The number of Israelis with at least one smartphone continues to increase and this brings new realities and opportunities with it, including the new major in the Tel Aviv high school. The course will be available from 10th to 12th grade and upon successful completion the students will receive certification from the Ministry of the Economy.
The school will be opening a new lab to accommodate the new program where students will assemble, disassemble and repair the phones.

Hopefully, these programs will also be offered in the Chareidi schools since many of the students will be able to develop technical skills to earn a parnassah. Most chareidim have kosher phones and many have smart phones they need for work or other purposes so this may be one of the few growth areas for jobs in the evolving Israeli economy which is more and more technology focused.
