Youths from the Southern Hebron Hills community of Otniel have undertaking what they call a startup initiative. They are using Headstart to raise NIS 250,000 to build a lookout in memory of community resident and terror victim Mrs. Dafne Meir HY”D.
The project initiators write “We could be disgruntled, angry or frustrated as those seeking revenge and everyone would understand. Time after time death strikes us. Every day it threatens to harm again but, no, we the orphans of the S. Hebron Hills and youths of Otniel chose life. We chose to build, create, initiate, invest and develop. We chose to change the area with its ancient wild landscape into a bustling visitors center; one that attracts an array of tourists – a place that will reveal our values of love for the land, nature and people. We have begun the groundbreaking path around Otniel, a real engineering project”.
