Police received an emergency call that activated a marine unit in the Port of Ashdod on Sunday morning as three people were seeking assistance.
Three Ashdod residents in their 50s headed out during the predawn hours on Sunday morning 17 Menachem Av to go fishing.
Their motor died after they taveled about 3.7 km (2.3 miles) out to sea, west of the Port of Ashdod.
The three were in a boat without food or drink, or any other provisions and called to be rescued.
The call came into the emergency dispatcher at about 10:30AM, and an Israel Police marine unit was dispatched and the civilian boat was towed back into port without incident.
