Why are they filling up swimming pools while they should be fighting a fire
In rural areas that do not have hydrants, once the 500-1000 gallons of water that is kept in the engine tank is used the only other source is to use a tanker relay. The pools are filled and then the engine can use that water to extinguish the fire via its handlines.
