This case occurred in Israel earlier in the week, late at night when a taxi driver in Haifa struck a dog, injuring one of the dog’s paws. Police arrived on the scene and they realized a veterinarian must be summoned. Police tried a number of animal rights organizations but they did not receive any assistance at the late hour.
Zaka was finally brought into the picture and Zaka contacted Dr. Tadhar Klein and using a Zaka ambulance; after taking necessary precautions to line the bed with plastic, the injured dog was taken to a veterinary hospital.
Zaka N. District Operations Office Chezki Farkash explains “This was an exceptional incident and despite my years in Zaka, I have never encountered such an instance. The dedication of police and Zaka has definitely saved the life of this dog”.
