Israel Railways has already announced that in two weeks, Shabbos Parshas Eikev, police will close down portions of the Ayalon Highway southbound and Derech HaShalom in Tel Aviv for 28 hours, from erev Shabbos at 16:30 until 20:30 on motzei Shabbos to permit ongoing work on the railway.

The railway came under fire in July for another case of major chilul Shabbos in the area of the Halacha Interchange. In that case too, the highway was shut as well and police enforced the changes in traffic to accommodate the chilul Shabbos.
