Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit has ordered the hiring of additional women in the state’s religious councils. The High Court of Justice recently ordered hiring a deputy director-general for the nation’s Batei Din system.
According to the new directive issued by Mandelblit, at least 30% of the employees of the nation’s religious councils must be women. According to Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) quoting the Hiddush NGO), at present, women only represent 4% of all the employees in the nation’s religious councils.
