An 18-month-old Modi’in Illit girl died in the hospital after being taken to the hospital last week, on Thursday, 29 Tammuz, after losing consciousness at home. She was niftar on Monday evening 4 Menachem Av after struggling for her life in an intensive care unit in Tel Hashomer Hospital in Tel Aviv.

The girl’s condition was serious upon arrival and doctors reported to police she did not have any medical history. Bruises detected on her body made physicians suspicious, alerting police to possible abuse.

Shai District police interviewed both parents while the child was hospitalized. After the hospital announced the infant’s death, it was agreed an MRI would be performed to avoid an autopsy or any invasive procedure and to permit the kvura of the child in a timely fashion.
