A poll released earlier this week shows that if elections were held today, the Yesh Atid party would climb from 11 to 22 seats and Yahadut Hatorah from 6 to 11 seats.
Health Minister Yaakov Litzman on Monday morning 4 Menachem Av spoke with Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) host Razi Barkai. He was asked to comment on the poll released on Sunday.
Commenting on the poll, Litzman, stated he is confident Yair Lapid will not climb to 22 seats as Yahadut Hatorah will not reach 11. In addition, he also believes the Machane Tzioni party will receive more than 8 seats, adding “[Machen Tzioni party leader MK Yitzchak] Herzog has what to worry about, but he will not be that bad off”.
Litzman feels the results of this latest poll are far from realistic.

Radical changes rarely occur under proportional representation unless voters shift from one party to another, which is likely to occur within a movement. Among the secularists, a shift from what was once Labor to what is now Lapid might be occuring.
Among religious, are their signs of Shas or Bayit Yehudi voters shifting to Yahadut Hatorah? Are their indications that 5% of Israel’s secular voters are turning Hareidi? What about the anti-zionist Hareidi deciding to vote in the zionist elections? Since none of that is happening, then any change in Yahadut ha-Torah is likely to be incremental (one or two seats at a time, but no more).
