Officials at Bnei Brak’s Mayanei HaYeshua Hospital have decided to reveal to the world the renovations that took place, resulting in a most welcoming maternity ward, soon to be open to the public in the hospital run under direct leadership of Gedolei Yisrael Shlita.
Maternity Ward 3 is the hospital’s newest, constructed amid the realization there is a growing number of women wishing to give birth in the Torah hospital for a list of reasons, comfort and the pampering that accompanies the experience being some of them. Hospital officials point out the new ward more resembles a five-star hotel than a hospital ward, which is what it is intended to be, citing it is the most elegant of its kind in Israel today.
Officials explain that much thought, planning and investment went into the new ward, boasting they have taken the needs of the mothers into consideration down to the last detail including electric beds, private storage space, a shelf for one’s shoes and other items, a special pillow designed to better meet the needs of new moms, a special bathing room that will pamper women, and an overall plan to provide a restful, quite, tranquil experience during one’s stay during an age when patients are all too often overcome with the ambient noises of visitors, cellular telephones and an array of electronic gadgetry. The dining area for the moms is also modeled after a hotel equivalent, once again, to pamper women during their stay.
Hospital Director Rav Shlomo Rothschild explains that the Ministry of Health interviewed 11,500 women who were admitted to 27 different hospitals around Israel, and patient satisfaction was highest among those in Mayanei HaYeshua as well as ranking third in the number of births among hospitals of its size in Israel. Rav Rothschild understands that with a constant growth in the number of women wishing to give birth in his facility, the maternity ward had to be expanded. Rothschild boasts his facility has introduced a new standard for maternity wards and remains at the forefront of caring for mothers during and after delivery.
In his own words, Rav Rothschild explains “We constantly strive for medical excellence and therefore, we are constantly recruiting more senior physicians and acquire the worlds most advanced medical equipment. We are proud to implement the slogan that accompanies us – ‘professionals with a neshama’”.
During the past year, all of the hospital’s delivery rooms have been overhauled and the staff expanded. The OB/GYN department has a new leader as well, Professor Yosef Lessing, who has an international reputation and is a former director of OB/GYN at Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv.
One of the hospital’s secrets is that often, senior physicians and professors compelled to retire from other facilities due to their age, are grabbed up, with Mayanei HaYeshua realizing they offer a wealth of knowledge accrued over decades, using these seasoned experts to mold the next generation of medical caregivers.
