President Reuven Rivlin on Tuesday, 27 Tammuz visited Bakum, the IDF’s main induction base.
During his visit the president was told there was an increase in the number of chareidim entering the IDF in 2016.
According to the data released, a total of 3,200 chareidim will enter the IDF in 2016 as compared to 2,800 in all of 2015.
In addition, there will be another first in the November 2016 induction, a chareidi company in the Paratroops Brigade.
According to the Yediot Achronot report, Mr. Rivlin met with inductees entering the IDF, escorted by Chief of Personnel Branch Major-General Chaggai Tupolinsky and Deputy Chief of Staff Major-General Yair Golan.

#1 Sure is something to mourn about. I wouldn’t be surprised if those guys pictured on the cover of the clip were religious Jews before they stepped foot in the shmaad army.
For Yediot Achronot, anyone wearing a pepsi-cola kipa or is a bit shomer shabbos is Chareidi, hence 3,200 Chareidim entered the IDF in 2016. What a joke. Secular imaginations is almost as good as Arab imaginations.
A person is considered charedi for IDF purposes if he or she was enrolled in an elementary school under charedi auspices. Thus, the thousands of Russian children who went to Shuvu schools -who by and large remain non-religious and go to the army- are counted as “charedi” and thanks to them the quota is filled.
