Donald Trump is planning to announce that Indiana Gov. Mike Pence is his choice for his vice presidential running mate, RollCall is reporting.
As Trump narrowed in on his choice of Pence, the two men spent time at both Trump’s golf resort in New Jersey in early July and at the Indiana governor’s mansion this week.
The NY Times reported the following:
Mr. Trump’s advisers have told national Republican officials that they are preparing to make an announcement with Mr. Pence, according to three people with knowledge of the conversations, who were not authorized to discuss them publicly. His campaign has said that it will unveil a running mate for Mr. Trump in New York on Friday.
Mr. Pence, a former congressman and radio host, emerged over the last week as the strong favorite of Mr. Trump’s political advisers and senior officials in the Republican Party.

Yeah! Christie, a good guy, has too much baggage! It would have been a negative!
Guess he signed the confidentiality agreement
Wonder how many women and minority votes the GOP just lost.
is he the best choice?
Strange choice. Pence isn’t particularly popular in his home state and was expected to lose his re-election this fall. As of May his favorable/unfavorable was 40/42.
Pence is the real deal, unlike Christie.
If Pence would run for President, he’d probably get more votes than Trump.
The title is misleading, since trump has not announced anything yet.
If true, that means there will be three Republicans running for national office: Pence, Gary Johnson and William Weld.
This guy is a loser and wouldn’t have been re-elected in his own state. In the 72 hours after Indiana passed its anti-gay legislation, he changed his position at least 3 times and maybe 4 under pressure from major corporate employers and all the state’s media. On the other hand, that probably makes him perfect for Trumppela who also has changed his position on just about every issue several times.
