A significant amount of goods was found and seized at the Erez Crossing bordering Gaza on Wednesday, 7 Tammuz.

The discovery was unusual, even to those familiar with the most creative smuggling attempts and methodologies. Over the past few weeks, Ministry of Defense Crossing Authority officials, together with the Shin Bet, have uncovered hundreds of smuggling attempts at the postal service, on their way to Gaza via the Erez Crossing.

Among the items unearthed are security cameras, 14 small UAVs, UAV components and model airplanes, binoculars, laser pointers for weapons, communications equipment and electronic boards, tasers, weapons components, diving watches equipped with flashlights, flippers, miniature cameras, GoPro cameras, DVR cameras, banned electronic components, satellite communications equipment, surveillance cameras, telephone switchboards, WiFi antenna, packages of motion sensors, routers and slingshots. The discovery is a demonstration of the heavy pressure being put on smugglers and terrorist operatives by the Shin Bet, IDF Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), Tax Authority, Israeli Police and the Ministry of Defense Crossings Authority.

The materials were confiscated and an investigation has been launched to locate those involved and responsible .
