Eida Beis Din To Determine If Yeshivas Chachmas Lev Took Money From The Zionists

1A number of rabbonim, askanim and philanthropists from the Satmar community arrived in Israel on Tuesday 6 Tammuz to address the allegation that Yeshivas Chachmas Lev has accepted state funding for years.

After the news surfaced that the yeshiva has received funds from the ‘treif Zionist state’ for years, the school principal was summoned to meet with Gavaad Eida Chareidis HaGaon HaRav Yitzchok Tuvia Weiss Shlita as well as will Rav Zelig Reuven Katzenelbogen of Torah V’Yirah.

A probe into the matter has revealed that an outside person was responsible for distributing salaries. This person and not the principal is the one who took state funding, which he did without the principal’s knowledge.

The Eida Beis Din was set to convene on Wednesday 7 Tammuz to discuss the matter, aware the principal insists he had no knowledge of state funds being used to pay salaries. He claims that askanim who are calling for his dismissal are simply interested in taking over the building, which is worth a handsome sum.

On the other hand, the beis din views the principal responsible for what occurs in his school, including the source of funding and he must therefore accept responsibility and step down.

The delegation that arrived on Tuesday are in Israel to lend their support for the principal and their voices will be heard in beis din.

  1. And, also, whether chareidim may walk on sidewalks built by Zionist money, use sanitation, police, and fire department services paid for by Zionist money, or benefit from the Zionists’ army, Tzahal’s protection (with Hashem’s help). We also need a psak from someone whether chareidim in chutz la-aretz may vacation or visit relatives living in the Zionist state of Israel, and whether any chareidim may daven at the Kosel, recaptured and protected (with Hashem’s help) by Zionists.

  2. 1) It’s not a yeshiva, it’s a girls school.

    2) What’s particularly disturbing in this case, is that the school was founded after it was found that another Yiddish school, with a reputation of high quality studies, was found to be taking government money, and this new school was founded to replace it, and convinced the best students to switch to the new school. Now, it appears that they were doing the same thing. It doesn’t make sense, and knowing the principal personally, I believe him that he didn’t know about it.

  3. Plenty of Eida institutions take government money. They just funnel it through second and third parties (i.e., open an amuta, apply for government money, then use that amuta to transfer funds to or on behalf of the Eida institution. This allows the Eida institution to claim that they don’t take Zionist money, while taking Zionist money. It looks like ‘Chachmas Lev’ just didn’t bother with the subterfuge and took the money directly. Similarly, plenty of eidaniks vote in Israeli elections, they just don’t do it personally, choosing instead to hand their teudot zehut over to others who go to vote.

  4. You people (1-5) are so narrow-minded. If the secular government gives money they want a foot in the school and have a say. This is what our Gedolim want to avoid.

  5. People say look how many people have lost there lives h”yd because of the zionists,
Imagine how many people would have been killed without the zionists –
The nazis ym”s killed 6 millon just bc they were jews
As they say the grass always looks greener on the other side

  6. 419elm, I take exception to your vitriolic hatred of Yidden. PERIOD!!!
We must win with Ahavad Yisroel!
P.S., the Eida Hachreisis ought not be packaged in the same package as the Naturei Karta, the latter who also displays vitriolic hatred for Yidden with their embrace of its killers. It’s not one and the same, albeit somewhat similar in shita alone, not despicable action.

  8. What a bunch of nonsense. They ALL take money, either directly or indirectly.

Aside from the valid comments by #1 and others, they take stipends to sit and learn even when they are NOT sitting and learning. Schools and Yeshivas get money for buildings and other things directly or indirectly through local governments. Where do you think that money comes from?

Appearances vs reality. Which is more important?
