The family of MIA Sgt. Shaul Oren HY”D on Sunday 4 Tammuz petitioned the High Court of Justice. The family asked the court to prevent Hamas terrorists imprisoned in Israel from viewing the Sunday night Euro soccer finals, explaining they should not be entitled to any privileges above the miminum treatment dictated by international law and conventions. The Orens feel the government is not acting as it should to make the return of their son’s body by Hamas a ‘national priority” as PM Netanyahu promised the bereaved parents he would.
The High Court responded to the petition, as Justice Ori Shacham rejected it, explaining the imprisoned terrorists would be able to view the soccer finals. The court explained “There is no legal way” to prevent them viewing the match which was aired on Channel 2 TV based on the petition, pointing out the petition was void of legal basis upon which the court could act to prevent prisoners from viewing the soccer finals. Finally, the court addressed the timing of the request, the last minute, despite the fact the scheduled of the soccer match was known for some time.

Anyone surprised with Israel’s justice system who pursue justice for those who kill terrorists while giving terrorists who murdered innocent civilians free education and enjoyment in jail and release them after 2 months of hunger-striking.
