The family of the murdered Jerusalem Arab teenager, 16-year-old Muhammed Abu-Khadir, have turned to the High Court of Justice, demanding the destruction of the homes of the Jews convicted in the attack as is done to Arab homes. The Jews convicted in the murder were sentenced to life imprisonment and 21-year sentences.
The Abu-Khadir family however feels this is insufficient and wants their homes razed as well.
The petitioners included the letter they received from former Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon, who responded to their demand to raze the homes. Ya’alon explained there is a difference between this case and the murder of Jews by Arabs since in the former, the act was denounced by the entire community and there is no mechanism in place to support or praise such actions. However, in the latter, the PA (Palestinian Authority) lauds such acts as do residents and something has to be done to create a deterrence.
The family however feels today this is not the case as the extreme right-wing has shifted more to the extreme right, citing the fatal arson attack in Duma that claimed the lives of members of the Darawshe family.Therefore, they reject Ya’alon’s reasoning and are calling on the high Court to order the demolition of the homes of the convicted murderers.

What a bunch of hypocrites the Arabs don’t punish their own then fight them to the violence but you think that we should punish Jewish perpetrators nice try
I hate to say it but they have a point.
I hate to say it but beating up a mentally retarded until he’s forced to confess for the tortures to stop does not make him into a terrorist or even a murderer. The Jew is most likely as innocent as they come.
They have no point at all! They kill us at least 200 to 1. When they stop killing us, we will stop killing them. until then, they should shut up!
My understanding is that the Israeli Gov’t started doing that because the Arafat’s group and others would pay the families of the terrorists a stipend. This way they knew their families would be taken care of if they martyred themselves. They tried to counteract that by letting them know their homes would be destroyed. As soon as these guys or their families are paid while they are in jail on 21 yr. sentences for what they did… then someone can argue their homes should be razed.
