Once again a passenger has documented a driver of a public bus using his smart phone while operating the bus. In this case. The driver is operating a bus on the 219 line from Kiryat Herzog to Modi’in Illit, a bus operated by the “Kavim” Company.
The driver was watching a soccer match on his phone, which is seen on the dashboard in front of him as he operated the bus.
As a result of the video, the driver was summoned for questioning by police.

It’s not just drivers that pose dangers. Pedestrians frequently drive, or cross the street, distracted by their phones. More than a few times, I have had to brake for a woman with a toddler or a carriage, or both, who is wandering in a busy street completely oblivious to traffic. This seems to be a widespread problem in the frum community where I live. It needs to be spoken about.
