Another unit is being established in the IDF among infantry units to join Netzach Yehuda (Nachal Chareidi) and Tomer (Givati Brigade); in the paratroops corps. The experience with chareidi combat infantry forces to date has been positive, leading to the decision to add the chareidi option to the fighters with the red berets.
The decision is part of the Gideon multi-year plan for revamping the military, which includes the formation of mixed gender combat units.
These chareidi combat forces join the many non-combat options for chareidim in the IDF including Shachar Air Force and Navy.
