Mother Of Seven Disappeared In Northern Israel

mishtA 50-year-old woman who was chareidi until about eight years ago, a mother of seven, disappeared from northern Israel on Monday 14 Sivan.

Esti Weinstein, a resident of Yishuv Azur, disappeared on Monday, last seen in the north.

It is reported that when the Esti R”L began her journey away from Torah, the family cut ties with her with the exception of one daughter, who took the journey with her.

Now, she has left a letter which signals her despondence and thoughts of suicide and police have publicized her photo in the hope of finding her before she is harmed. She recently posted to social media lamenting the fact that after her chareidi daughter gave birth, she only learned of birth by chance.

She was driving a black Hyundai license number 51-562-37. Anyone with information should phone the police ‘100’ emergency number.

  1. There has to be different actions besides ‘excommunication’ to deal with individuals when they live a Torah frum lifestyle. That is not the daas Torah of chashuva Rabbonim in America.

  2. To NO. 3…

No one is “blaming the torah”. We are blaming people who distort daas torah to “cut off” or “put in charem” those who go OTD or adopt a less stringet degree of observance. These people are still members of your family and still yidden. We should still love and nurture them, accept them as they are now and try our best to attract them back into the family. Those who seek to isolate them are indeed partially responsible for C’V may be a tragic outcome and if so, they increase the likelihood of such tragedies striking closer to home.

  3. It will always come down to observing Shabbos and Mitzvos. Don’t get me wrong I hope she’s ok but…

Although Eretz Yisroel is important, without Tora we could not survive as Jews, even if we possessed Eretz Yisroel, and so we must first concern ourselves with remaining Jews, and then worry about the Holy Land for Jews

  4. We need to care about every single yid. She is our sister. She is just hurting and she needs more compassion not less.
If she had started off not frum, we would not write her off but try and attract her to orthodox Judaism with warmth and love!

  5. Nobody “excommunicated” her or put her in cheirom. They probably were afraid of her influence on the rest of the family. If she pulled one daughter away with her maybe she was actively trying to do the same with the others.
We don’t know the whole story. Let’s hope she’s okay.

  6. I’d just like to say that this is the first time where I saw such diverse opinions stated (in the comment section) in which I felt everybody has a legitimate point. Some perhaps more than others, but all statements above have some truth to it. Nice.

As far as this woman is concern I hope they find her alive and well and I hope her life gets put back together.
