A 41-year-old taxi driver from Ra’anana who suffered a heart attack at the wheel on motzei Shabbos crashed into a café on Ben-Yehuda Street in Tel Aviv, leading to the death of three people and leaving six other injured. The taxi crashed into the Furama Café.
Among the dead are the driver and two patrons of the restaurant. At first it was feared to be another vehicular terror attack.
United Hatzalah EMT Benny Manella explained to the media “When I arrived on the scene I found a number of injured civilians on the sidewalk near the restaurant. A vehicle had slammed into them. Together with other United Hatzalah responders were began CPR on one victim and a bit later advanced life support was implemented but the victim was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
