The local planning board has given its approval for building an additional 10,000 apartment units in Bnei Brak over the next 25 years.

Stage one of the plan is the creation of a new neighborhood in northern Bnei Brak near Yarkon Park, slated for 2,000 units. The plan also calls for refurbishing areas of the neighborhood.

One of the difficulties in Bnei Brak is the proximity of homes to one another and the lack of area for future development. Therefore, the plan calls for an open area in the new buildings, on the lobby level, to provide an area for the children.

The plan also calls for improving public transportation in the city, citing the lack of available transport today from the center of the community to the northern area.
