Netanya Chief Sephardi Rabbi HaGaon HaRav David Shalush ZT”L was niftar at the age of 95. He served as the city’s Sephardi rav for decades.

The levaya begins at noon from his beis medrash, Zachor L’David in Netanya and at 16:00, hespedim will begin in Yeshivat Porat Yosef in the Geula area of Yerushalayim.

The Moetzas Gedolei Hatorah of Shas released a notice of aveilus which was publicized by party leader Minister Aryeh Deri. In addition, Deputy Defense Minister Eli Ben-Dahan announced “I merited knowing the rav personally, HaGaon HaRav David Shalush, who established a premier kashrus. He was a pillar for the Moroccan community and worked to bring the immigrants from the Ethiopian Jewish community closer. It is a great loss”.
