The New York City area is in the path of potential severe weather.
CBS2’s Vanessa Murdock reported strong to severe thunderstorms could be making their way through the viewing region between 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The threat is greatest through Central and Southern New Jersey. It is slight for New York City and points west.
This line is expected to be over New York City at 8 p.m.
The storms could bring winds in excess of over 60 miles per hour. Small hail is possible, along with flash flooding due to torrential downpours.
There is even a minimal threat of an isolated tornado.
The New York City Department of Buildings advised property owners, contractors and crane operators to secure their construction sites, buildings and equipment due to the high winds, with gusts of 50 mph possible Sunday afternoon.
