Yesh Atid party leader MK Yair Lapid was greeted warmly by Shas faction officials in Knesset, taking part in the informal birthday party for MK Yitzchak Vaknin, who is 58.

Deri took advantage of the situation, wishing Lapid mazel tov on the engagement of his son on motzei Shabbos after Lapid published the family took part in an ‘traditional erusin’ in line with the minhag of the family.

Lapid responded to Deri’s bracha with a joke, “Mabruk on the Georgian bride, now you need to find a Moroccan kallah…”

Lapid, whose party is a member of the opposition, has been working hard of late to mend fences with the chareidi parties as he refused to partner with tem in the last Knesset. He has made progress with most with the exception of Health Minister Yaakov Litzman, who still refuses to speak to him other than necessary businesses pertaining to his cabinet position.
