It appears the saga involving Rabbi Eliezer Berland Shlita is coming to an end as the rav signed an extradition agreement, willingly turning himself over to Israel Police. The rav, who remains incarcerated in Johannesburg, has been on the run to evade extradition for over two years.
It is reported on Thursday afternoon 18 Iyar the rav has signed the agreement to turn himself over to Israeli authorities. Upon his arrival in Israel, he will be facing criminal charges for allegedly assaulting women.
Unconfirmed but reliable sources report the rav may be back in Israel as early as next week.

Stop this chilul hashem. Put him on trial asap to see if he is guilty of these crimes.
The whole world will see that this tzadik took upon himself yissurim for the Klal. There is no case here. He had said many months before this started that if a tzadik would take upon himself bushos it would save the Klal.

He should have stayed in Israel to get the bushos. He probably did not trust the Israeli justice system and I don’t blame him. But running away is foolish. the Police can catch anyone that they really want, sooner or later
HE took on embarassment and exile. #1 What Hillul H’ are you talking about! #3 what do you mean running away? Charges have only been constructed since Holland told Israel where to go to (they had “apprehended” Rav Berland as per their request only to find no charges pending!).
Yeshiva World News, why are you spelling Rav with a small letter R ? Need to go through grade 2 again? Oh and what you report as being on the “run” and for 2 years, is more like 4, and little of it on the “run”. Travelling legally, with the correct documents. Since Holland, it seems the israeli establishment that has been hounding and harassing and persecuting Rav Berland SHlita, has constructed some charges and laid them.
Now if anyone is worried about Hillul H’, look no further than the “Torah” Jews who swallow Motsei Shem Ra hook line sinker and pole. Wait til you see what Israel has been preparing. H’ should protect us all and bless Rav Berland and protect him from all harm and lies and intrigue! May it be returned upon the heads of those who seek his.
