Members of the Vaad Yeshivos met on Tuesday 16 Iyar in the home Ponevezh Rosh Yeshiva HaGaon HaRav Gershon Edelstein Shlita, on Ravaad Street in Bnei Brak.
The members of the vaad and other rabbonim attending the atzeres discussed the draft law and the realities vis-à-vis avreichim and bnei Torah. Among the rabbonim in attendance were HaGaon HaRav Ba’adani, HaGaon HaRav D. Landau, HaGaon HaRav Schlesinger, HaGaon HaRav S. Alter, HaGaon HaRav M. Farberstein, HaGaon HaRav B. Solovechik, HaGaon HaRav Ernster, HaGaon HaRav M.D. Halberstam and HaGaon HaRav Y.M. Weiss.
HaGaon HaRav Shalom Cohen Shlita, the President of the Shas Moetzas Yisrael sent a letter with his bracha to the atzeres. The letter, which was read by Rav Ba’adani calls on all relevant rabbonim to maintain the current status of the yeshivos and to maintain the non-compromising battle against efforts to draft bnei Torah into the IDF.

Better to wage an uncompromising battle against the lack of education in the chareidi sector, thus preventing men from working at respectable jobs and earning a decent living.
Better to wage an uncompromising battle against the bittul Torah that takes place every time there’s a “protest.”
Better to wage an uncompromising battle against those who label police and IDF as Nazis.
Perhaps the “frum” parties in the Kenesset should focus more on protecting the Torah-world’s independence including exemption from conscription, and less on tring to get lots of patronage and other financial goodies.
#2: Better to follow da’as Torah than da’as ba’alei batim.
#2, parnossa comes from above, did the owners of B and H get a secular education? daas Torah says that the army is not for the frum, that is all I need to hear to oppose it. Let them draft the Israeli Arabs into the army.
So the fun starts.
I personally don’t go to the army and if I would have to choose I would choose the US ARMY, it’s at least a country that respects the citizens.
#4 No human being is infallible.
#7: If you mean that you disavow the entire concept of da’as Torah, please say so clearly. We will all have a clear picture where we stand.
