The Tzibur Views Yair Lapid As A Suited Opposition Leader

Lapid speaks during a Yesh Atid party meeting, at the Knesset, the Israeli parliament, in JerusalemA poll conducted by Panels Politics for the Knesset Channel shows that 44% of the Israeli tzibur believes Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid would make a good opposition leader while 26% feel current leader Yitzhak Herzog is the man for the job and 10% would like to see Arab Bloc leader Ayman Odeh. Only 7% voted for Meretz party leader Zahava Gal-On.

It should be added that Herzog on Wednesday 10 Iyar announced he has no intention of resigning his current post as opposition leader unless the current coalition government collapses.

  1. 44% of Israelis (citizens, registered voters, Jews, adults, whatever). But NOT the tzibur! Tzibur is a term reserved for the cohesive group called keneses Yisroel who accept, protect, and practice the Torah. The Chofetz Chaim said so and went so far as to say the “tzibur” is not the majority of Jews, but rather may be even one Jew if he/she is the only one who remains true to the Torah and accepts its leaders.

  2. He is certainly roi to be the next leader!
Its inspiring to see how a yid can do teshuva so quickly and so thoroughly. I dont think theres any question now about how wonderful a prime minister he will be for the Jewish State.

  3. Yes, he would be a good opposition leader. He’s always opposed to anything having to do with Torah unless it’s to his political advantage to seem to be supporting Torah for five minutes.
