Temperatures around Israel on Shabbos were unseasonably hot and the weatherman promises it’s just going to get hotter today and tomorrw. Sweltering weather is predicted for Sunday and Monday, 7 and 8 Iyar around the county.

Forecasters add that new records may be set in some cities are dangerously high temperatures are expected. Temperatures in Eilat are expected to reach 45C (113F). The record in Eilat for May is 45.2 (113.3) back in May 1980. In Beersheva the temperature is expected to climb to 43-44 (109-111). The record in that city for May was set back in 1970 when the temperature reached 45 (113).

Temperatures are expected to be even hotter on Monday.
