A well-known Tzfat avreich, Rav Yechiel Mordechai Springel HaKohen z”l fell to his death on Thursday, 4 Iyar.

According to reports, the rav fell from the roof of a building during the early evening hours and was pronounced dead on the scene. The tragic accident occurred on the Drucker Building on the Midrachov-Jerusalem Street in the city.

Police crime scene technicians worked the scene to determine if there was foul play and they ruled out suicide as a possible cause of death.

The levaya took place on Thursday night at 21:00 in Tzfat.
