For many, a visit to Machane Yehuda in Jerusalem is a must during a visit to Israel. For some, it is the unique ambiance while for others, it might be halva or a falafel. However, a recent project has changed the face of the shuk, but this change is only evident when the shuk is closed, a sight not seen by many.
The project to begin painting faces of famous people, rabbonim, Jewish greats of the past and Biblical scenes has already changed the face of Machane Yehuda, so much so one can often find visitors visiting on Shabbos, taking a walk through history, an experience especially appropriate for the little ones.
As the video shows the paintings on the roll gates include modern figures who played a prominent role in the nation as well as Moshe Rabbeinu, the Rambam and HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef ZT”L .
