Four trekkers who were hiking from Ashdod to the Dead Sea mistakenly found themselves in a PA (Palestinian Authority) autonomous area, which is off limits to Israelis.
As per the Oslo Agreements and regulations set into place as a result, Israeli citizens are prohibited from entering into areas that are under the exclusive control of the PA, known as area “A”.
The four set out from Efrat in the morning and walked towards Nachal Tekoa but veered from their path. Once they realized the error of their ways they left the PA, B’chasdei Hashem unharmed, and were met by IDF soldiers outside, who detained them and questioned them, then permitting them to continue on their way.
