Donald Trump’s approach to Twitter is as unorthodox as his presidential campaign.
The billionaire’s use of the social media service has been unpredictable and unfiltered, sometimes brilliant and occasionally typographically challenged. He has celebrated the support of scores of accounts that appear almost solely dedicated to him.
The Republican presidential front-runner regularly cites his Twitter fans for facts as well as commentary and affirmation. As long as the material is positive, he’s not picky about the accounts involved.
But Trump’s habit has also come with collateral damage. He’s promoted supportive tweets from white supremacists or near-skeletal accounts established just days before. He has also relied on these supporters to furnish tidbits about the race and even his own businesses that the facts don’t bear out.
