VIDEO: The Reenactment Of The Murder Of Muhmad Abu-Khalid

Mohammed Abu Khdeir[VIDEO IN EXTENDED ARTICLE]

It is nothing less than frightening that some believe when a Jew perpetrates reprehensible acts that are prohibited by the Torah HaKadosha against an Arab it is acceptable, or not as heinous as when an Arab strikes out at a Jew. R”L there are those counted in the religious community who feel that striking out at Arabs arbitrarily in response to terror attacks is an acceptable act, or at the very least understandable.

Yosef Chaim Ben-David, the primary suspect in the heinous murder of 16-year-old Jerusalem Arab resident Muhmad Abu-Khalid, reenacted his crime for police as his attorney’s insanity plea on his behalf was rejected by the Jerusalem District Court.

In this IBA News report we see and hear the suspect explaining his actions. Following is a synopsis of his words after the court lifted the gag order on the video’s release.

Ben-David

The main thing was that the victim should be male, not a female of children, and not too big so we were certain we could overpower him.

He sat there, next to the blue door with his feet like one who smokes a cigarette – playing with his phone. They got out and asked him how to get to Tel Aviv, I was behind them – didn’t hear the conversation. They then asked how to get to Shar Shechem and he said ‘I am an Arab’ and smirked and they realized he knew something was up and then he got back on the phone but they got him, pushed him into the car from right-to-left while he fought all the time.

I was concentrating at the wheel and realized my heart is beating – that this is the point of no return. I saw the leg. They used force to close the door and then I locked them automatically and we sped away.

I am now aware there is no turning back. They are choking him and in your head you imagine a million Arabs are after you, shooting and throwing rocks.

It is now explained that he slowed down and made sure not to drive conspicuously as they headed for the Jerusalem Forest. One of the reasons the court rejected the insanity plea is his ability to give a total calm recount of the events down to the last detail.

Back to Ben-David

They are punching him in the rib cage while choking him. Wanted to finish him up as fast as possible.

IBA

So they continued to punch him and carry out your orders?

Back to Ben-David

One only held his hands. There were differences of opinion, I am not going to lie to you. I turned on Arab radio.

IBA

Why?

Ben-David

His response not clear. We were doing a Kiddush Hashem, not a Chilul Hashem. I always say this. This is the first time however I took off my yarmulke so not to appear as a Chilul Hashem chas v’sholom.

IBA

When they arrived at the forest he smashed Muhmad’s cell phone so it could not be tracked. By now, Abu-Khadir was not longer conscious. I beat him twice, once for the Fogel family and for Shalhevet Pas, whose picture I saw before me eyes. (This is about 5:58 in the video when he shows how he beat the victim). I then moved to here and said give me the bottle of gasoline. We poured it and then I gave him two kicks at the bottom of his legs. This is for Eyal – excuse me three kicks, for Eyal, Naftali and I don’t remember the name of the last one.

As is known, they then set the youth ablaze while he was still alive R”L.

  1. This character Yosef Chaim Ben-David seems like he might not be playing with a full deck. His act is utterly reprehensible, and might even place him in the category of “rodef,” as he might have endangered other Jews with his behavior. It’s a thin line separating between self-defense and retribution against unrelated bystanders who are not known to have committed a crime that deserves such vigilante punishment (burning alive r”l).
Having said that, I’m wondering if the Israeli authorities would ever allow re-enactments of Arab crimes and assaults to be broadcast. You know, the stabbings, hackings, bombings, ramming with vehicles, etc. That the police do these re-enactments is understanable and is done by police forces throughout the world. But, why did they choose to release this video to the public, to be broadcast in the media? Hashem yishmor ve’yatzil.
