Two New York Police Department detectives are charged with assaulting a uniformed postal worker.

Detectives Angelo J. Pampena and Robert A. Carbone were arraigned Wednesday in Queens.

Their attorneys did not immediately respond to messages requesting comment.

According to an indictment, Karim Baker had just gotten into his car on the evening of Oct. 21, 2015 when the detectives punched and kicked him, then dragged him onto the sidewalk.

Pampena filed a sworn criminal court complaint alleging that Baker was parked directly in front of a fire hydrant. However, the prosecutor said video evidence showed that the vehicle was parked more than 15 feet from the hydrant.
