Israel’s High Court on Wednesday rejected a petition seeking to prevent the first-ever Birchas Kohanos at the Kosel. The event, organized by the Women of the Wall (WoW) organization is set to take place on the first day of Chol Hamoed Pesach in the Ezras Noshim at the Kosel.
The justices explained the main reason for rejecting the petition is the late hour the petition was filed by the B’Tzedek NGO. B’Tzedek explained to the court the motivation for the event is not religious but simply an act of provocation.
Kosel Rav Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz Shlita has also turned to Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit to intervene, also citing that the event is nothing more than a provocation – not a religious event.

Avairah gorreres avairah. And of COURSE it’s not a religious event! That’s never what feminists are about! Since when does an eved Hashem dictate the way the eved should server the Adon? Instead of submitting to the Adon’s will and desires?
your headline that the high court gives a “green light” contradicts your story that the high court “rejected” their petition. well, which one is it??
ok, my apologies. i see they “rejected” the petition to stop it, meaning that they gave it a “green light” to proceed. how sad! what’s going on over there?
so when will the Sodom court give the green light for J for J their thing after all they’re also jews…and what about Christian christianing…also Jews (2000 years ago etc
What is driving these women to be such rebellious people? What do they cite as a precedent for women to duchin? Has a woman ever duchined in any point in time in Jewish history? I do not understand these women’s motivation, other than to be troublemakers.
i never understood why the only “chumrahs” they want to take on are the mitzvos for men. i’m sure that most of them don’t keep all the mitzvos that they ARE required to keep.
The mistake here was appealing to the so called high court. That gave the women a lot of free publicity and predictable legitimacy. They should have been ignored.
If Dovid Hamelech or any of his contemporaries would come visit us today, (the Orthodox community), he would not recognize our religion at all. Things changed drastically.
Things are always changing and evolving.

Are Kohanos the daughters of Kohanim, the wives of Kohanim, or the granddaughters — from the maternal line mdash; of Puah?
