As part of its continuing effort to serve the community, the Boro Park Jewish Community Council (BPJCC) through the efforts of Met Council and in conjunction with Boro Park Shomrim held a massive Pesach distribution this week. Over 120,000 lbs. of produce, 6000 bottles of Grape Juice, 12,000 lbs. of chicken and thousands of bottles of apple juice, oil and seltzer were distributed to over 700 families for their Yom Tov needs, All this was in addition to the close to $100,000 in food vouchers that had been previously distributed.
“During these difficult times when so many people in our community are still struggling financially, Pesach becomes an even extra burden and so the JCC was glad to be of assistance,” said Isaac Stern BPJCC president. Yanky Daskal, coordinator of Boro Park Shomrim echoed that sentiment adding that “we were happy to put to use Shomrim’s years of organizational experience to partner with BPJCC to bring extra Yom Tov joy to so many people”
Joining JCC in assisting were a host of elected officials including State Senator Simcha Felder, Assemblymembers Jim Brennan and Dov Hikind, and Councilmembers David Greenfield, Brad Lander, and Mathieu Eugene
