Today, the Orthodox Union – Teach NYS launched a GOTV campaign in advance of tomorrow’s New York State Presidential Primary and four special elections that will be held to fill seats in the New York State Legislature. In a recorded message that will reach nearly 130,000 households across New York City and Long Island, Orthodox Union Policy Director Jake Adler reminds voters to make their voices heard by going to the polls on Tuesday, April 19th. OU – Teach NYS also released a targeted digital ad encouraging New Yorkers to vote.

“This presidential primary election — and the general election to come — will clearly be consequential for the U.S.-Israel relationship and the fundamental security of the Jewish State,” said Nathan Diament, Executive Director of the Orthodox Union Advocacy Center. “Tomorrow, New Yorkers have the opportunity to support the candidate they believe is best suited to protect this critical relationship by voting in the presidential primary. We ask every eligible voter to participate in tomorrow’s primaries — the stakes are too high to remain silent.”

“Even with the media coverage of the presidential primary, it’s our duty as a voice for our communities to remind New Yorkers to go vote in these four critical special elections tomorrow,” said Jake Adler, Policy Director for the Orthodox Union. “The Orthodox Union encourages all New Yorkers to make their voices heard and participate in our democracy.”

OU – Teach NYS’ campaign focuses on households in the four legislative districts that will conduct special elections on Tuesday to fill empty seats in the State Legislature. Special elections will be held in Brooklyn’s Assembly District 59, formerly represented by State Senator Roxanne Persaud; Staten Island’s Assembly District 62, formerly represented by New York City Councilmember Joseph Borelli; Manhattan’s Assembly District 65, formerly represented by Sheldon Silver; and Nassau County’s Senate District 9, formerly represented by Dean Skelos.
