A Jerusalem fire department spokesman reports that a total of 52 fire personnel, 18 fire vehicles in addition to two tower ladders operated at the scene of the Meah Shearim justice.
The fire department received the first call at 13:39 on Monday, 25 Adar-II. Five trucks were dispatched. When they arrived they saw a large fire that spread and continued to spread and a number of buildings were already engulfed.
A total of seven apartments were burned and the entire building was damaged. An investigation to determine the cause of the blaze is underway.
Hadassah Hospital updated earlier two victims of the Meah Shearim fire are being treated. They are suffering from burns to their upper body.
A 74-year-old man has 30% burns and a 67-year-old women has 20% burns. The degree of the burns is not included in the Hadassah spokesperson’s report.
