Addressing an event in Modi’in on Shabbos, Yisrael Beitenu party leader MK Avigdor Lieberman predicts the current investigation against Shas leader Aryeh Deri will be the straw for the current fragile coalition. He does not believe the coalition will survive the criminal investigation launched against Aryeh Deri.

Lieberman added he recently spoke with both Deri and opposition leader MK Yitzchak Herzog, with the latter also under investigation, adding they both are confident they will be cleared in the investigation.

Being that Lieberman does not feel any of the opposition parties are going to step in to save the coalition, he feels the coalition will collapse by year’s end.

Deri continues to release messages that he is clueless as to what the investigation is about. There is a gag order prohibiting reporting any details of the case.
