The soldier who shot and killed a wounded terrorist in Hebron on Purim was brought before the IDF court in Kastina on Thursday, 21 Adar-II. During the hearing the military prosecutor stated the soldier will be facing charges of manslaughter, not murder. The prosecution told the court the soldier was heard saying the terrorist must die for trying to kill IDF soldiers. He added the soldier told the battalion commander he was in a life-threatening situation but the officer does not believe him.
The prosecutor explained there is significant progress in the investigation and he requests to extend the soldier’s remand for an additional seven days.
Protestors expressing support for the soldier were outside the courthouse during the hearing.
