[PHOTOS IN EXTENDED ARTICLE] Ten people were injured in a fire on Rav Pedro (פדרו) Street in Bnei Brak that broke out at about 23:15 on Wednesday night, the eve of 21 Adar-II. B’chasdei Hashem firefighters were successful in pulling out some 20 people trapped in the apartment building due to heavy smoke conditions. Among the injured are a one-year-old and mother, both listed in serious condition.
The fire broke out in the room where tenants leave baby carriages. The blaze was reported at about 23:15 and the cause is still under investigation.
Ichud Hatzalah EMT Moshe Segal reports he was among the first on the scene and heavy smoke was pouring out of the building. Screaming was heard from the building and he adds that a farther and infant were extricated from one apartment, both in light condition.
The mother and infant are listed in serious condition in Tel Hashomer Hospital, both suffering from smoke inhalation.
Magen David Adom reports EMTs and paramedics transported victims to Tel Hashomer and Mayanei HaYeshua Hospitals.
