HaGaon HaRav Shalom Cohen Shlita, head of Shas’ Moetzas Gedolei Yisrael, met with Aryeh Deri, giving him a chizuk amid reports police are probing him for possible corruption.

The lifting of the gag order permitting the release of Deri’s name as the subject of the probe occurred late Tuesday night, the eve of 20 Adar-II. Rav Cohen met with Deri on Wednesday afternoon to give him a chizuk as the story received headline coverage in electronic and print media.

Rabbi Cohen is quoted telling Deri “You don’t have a shomer better than HKBH”, adding HKBH loves him and that he should continue his tireless efforts on behalf of the tzibur.
