According to an Israeli Channel 1 News report following the Saturday suicide bombing attack in Istanbul, Turkish intelligence and security officials may have bungled dealing with the ISIS terrorist presumed to have carried out the attack. DNA from the bomber is being checked in the hope of positively identifying the terrorist.
According to the report, the terrorist was in police custody on two separate occasions, including in May 2015 and he was released. He then traveled back to Syria and then returned to Turkey.
It is also reported Turkish intelligence about a month ago was alerted to four suicide bombers, and one, a female, is still at large and her whereabouts unknown.
