The organization of United Hatzalah bows its head after learning of the passing of the former head of the Israeli Security Agency (ISA-Mossad), and true hero of Israel, Meir Dagan. Dagan served as a member of the International Board of Directors for United Hatzalah. Founder of United Hatzalah Eli Beer said that “All of United Hatzalah mourns the passing of the former head of the ISA Meir Dagan, a man who fought for the security of Israel throughout his entire life and upon his retirement from the ISA he joined the International Board of Directors of United Hatzalah in order to help us in our mission of saving lives. Dagan was among the biggest supporters of United Hatzalah and worked tirelessly to promote the activities of United Hatzalah volunteers both in Israel and abroad. We are all saddened due to the loss of a great man who gave so much of himself for the country.”
Dagan joined United Hatzalah at the beginning of 2014 as a member of the International Board of Directors. He served in that capacity as a volunteer in order to, in his own words, “strengthen the hands of those who are working to save lives.” As part of his job Dagan helped the organization further develop and expand its activities in Israel as well as internationally and aided United Hatzalah greatly utilizing both his talents and his connections for the organization. May his memory be forever blessed.
