Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon spoke on Monday morning 4 Adar-II prior to an emergency session of the Security Council. The session was convened in the wake of Iran’s ballistic missiles tests in violation of Security Council 2231.

“Ignoring Iran’s violations will give a green light for continuing nuclear missile tests,” said Ambassador Danon. “History has taught us that we cannot bury our heads in the sand, action must be taken against Iran,” the Ambassador continued.

The Ambassador spoke about the threat to wipe Israel off the earth which was written on one of the missiles saying “if on it was written that England, France, Japan, or any other country, must be removed from the earth, would the Security Council sit silently?”

Ambassador Danon then appealed to the Security Council members calling on them to take, “punitive measures against Iran. This is the only way to ensure that Iran does not continue to test more missiles capable of carrying a nuclear warhead.”

“We will always defend ourselves when threatened,” Ambassador Danon continued. “But today you must hold Iran accountable and take concrete steps against their violations and their acts of aggression towards the State of Israel,” he concluded.
