A Chasidic man from Williamsburg is being hailed a hero after saving a 52-year-old Asian woman who tried to jump off the Brooklyn Bridge on Monday morning.
According to a report by OnlySimchas.com, the incident happened around 9:55AM.
The hero, who has been identified as Shloime Koehn was reportedly on the bridge and witnessed the woman attempt to jump off the bridge so he held her down with the help of other civilians until police arrived. The woman was standing on the edge of the bridge.
Emergency Medical Services transported her to Woodhull Hospital, where she is being treated.
A law enforcement source said she has a history of emotional disturbances.
