Women of the Wall to the High Court: We Are Not Reform

koselThe Women of the Wall (WoW) organization explains that despite what many have been led to believe, they are not Reform and are uninterested in accepting the recent agreement which sets aside an egalitarian prayer area near Robinson’s Arch. This is in line with recent statements made in a media interview by attorney Rene Feinstein, a veteran WoW organization member who now refers to her faction as Original-WoW or O-WoW.

Feinstein explained they are interested in davening at the Kotel not just any vacant area that has been allocated for she explains the Kotel has its special kedusha and that it why they have been fighting for equality there. Feinstein and those who are aligned with O-WoW continue at the Kosel, explaining that have been doing so for 27 years.

As such, they are once again taking their case to the Supreme Court because the egalitarian area allocated by the cabinet does not meet their religious needs. They wish to daven at the Kosel with tefilin and a Sefer Torah and are uninterested in the egalitarian area which lacks a mechitzah.

  1. This chutzpahdig women are erev rav. They simply don’t have the qualities of a Jewish woman, which is edelkeit and tznuis.

  2. Translation:

We want to call as much attention to ourselves as much as possible and at this place we can’t do that

  3. OF course they are not reform, they are DEFORMED. Their whole purpose of putting on tephilin is not to pray to G-d but to anger the religious people.

  4. what chutzpah. ‘kedusha’ they say’ they trample on everything thas ‘kedusheh. then they want kedushah.

what makes ‘kedusha’. among myeiard …v’hoyah machnecha kodosh’ etc etc

  5. I just noticed something interesting. The only person (both men and women) wearing tefillin is the lady reading from the sefer torah. None of the other are.

I guess these people are not clear on what they believe in other than the belief that they must fight against Orthodox Judaism.

    Sad ignorant people.

  6. The goal of these anarchists and nihilists is to destroy our Torah way of life. They attempt to harm us under the false banner of “diversity.” In their mind, no person has standing to tell another that he is performing a religious observance incorrectly. That is, unless they are telling us that our shul mechitzos are demeaning to women, or that we are wrong to deny that patrimonial descent is necessary in order to avoid discriminating against persons who identify as Jews but have only one Jewish parent, daddy.

One of the goals of this group is to violate the Torah not privately, but in your Orthodox face. If the Torah violation is not in your face, they do not believe that they have fulfilled their mission. They are merely crass exhibitionists.

They choose not to build their own conversion “mikva” on some chiloni kibbutz and live happily ever after. This is not an acceptable option for them because their exhibitionist methodology requires that they act offensively violating minhag and din in your face.

All of a sudden the mitzva of mikva is important and essential to them?! Reformers have not used a mikva in their (illegitimate) conversion procedures for 175+ years and now it is an essential component of their ceremony?

These people are mentally unbalanced. A person’s religious activities should not have to be conducted in the face of an opponent to achieve legitimacy. Children will sometimes misbehave in a classroom to gain attention and perhaps admiration from their classmates. It is this attention which the misbehaving child craves and which gives him an emotional “rush” as he challenges the teacher’s authority in the classroom. However, these persons are adults. They obviously get a “rush” when they defy Orthodox authorities and offend Torah believers. This is sick.

As these pathetic persons have declared, this is only the beginning of their “struggle.” It is the proverbial camel’s nose under the tent. I was at the kosel just last month and I saw the women in all their talis and tefillin glory. It was the first time I had seen talis and tefillin on persons who looked like camels.

They are spoilers. They were singing so loud at the Kosel that their kol isha could be heard throughout the entire Kosel Plaza. It is not that they want to daven – they want to spoil our davening.

  7. They ‘are uninterested in the egalitarian area which lacks a mechitzah’

They daven at the top of their lungs for all the men to hear and yet they are worried about a mechitzah?

This would be funny if it wasn’t so serious!
