Police Commissioner Roni Alsheich arrived at the Jaffa Port area shortly following the attack which claimed one life; leaving others injured, some fighting for their lives.
The commissioner was met by the Tel Aviv Chief and other senior commanders and the decision was made to increase the number of police personnel in Tel Aviv. Police are now confident the terrorist, a 22-year-old male from the PA (Palestinian Authority) Kalkilye area, was working alone. The terrorist was inside Green Line Israel legally.
Speaking to the media, Alsheich stated there is no operational connection between the attacks today [Referring about three of the day’s attacks, Jaffa Port, Shar Shechem and Baron Hirsh Street in Petach Tikvah].
As this was taking place, former President Shimon Peres was meeting with US Vice President Joe Biden less than an aerial kilometer away from the sirens and emergency response.
Among the wounded in the port attack are two Arabs, including one PA resident inside Green Line Israel illegally. The terrorist is not numbered among the wounded.

The hospital received three victims, one dead on arrival. The DOA was a 29-year-old tourist from the USA. The second is listed in moderate-to-serious condition and after being stabilized went for CT and likely to enter surgery. The third is suffering from psychological trauma – having witnessed the attacks.

A total of six wounded arrived with one of the seriously wounded in need of immediate care. This victim was rushed into surgery.
Two others in serious condition are in surgery at this time. Two victims remain in moderate condition and two others are in light condition, still in the emergency room. One of the victims is pregnant and B”H the fetus is okay at this time. All the stab wounds are to the chest, abdomen and backs of the victims.
