Police and inspectors from the Ministry of the Economy operated in Bnei Brak in an effort to crackdown on illegal fireworks ahead of Purim. As part of their preventative program, signs were posted and information disseminated in the hope the children will understand the dangers posed to them and persons around them by the illegal fireworks, which are unfortunately increasingly prevalent in frum communities during the Purim season.
Authorities confiscated some customs which they found did not adhere to fire retardant standards.
Police have issued a call to the community for everyone to distance themselves from the fireworks which result in injury, and at times permanent disability including loss of digits and damage to one’s eyesight and hearing.
